Special request for Pope-Ellis ceremony

The funeral of Graeme Pope-Ellis, the 15 times winner of the Dusi Canoe Marathon, will take place at the Hilton College Chapel on Friday 25 June at 2pm.

The Pope-Ellis family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, friends and well-wishers should make a donation to two causes that were very close to Graeme Pope-Ellis’ heart, the Dusi uMngeni Conservancy Trust (DUCT), and the Change a Life Academy.

The Dusi uMngeni Conservancy Trust is doing pioneering work rehabilitating damage caused to the river valley environment between Pietermaritzburg and Durban, while the Change a Life Academy provides practical support, lifeskills education and training to young aspirant canoeists from the Valley of a Thousand Hills.
