CSA suspends junior member for six monthsTuesday, 14 December 2010 09:00 Paddler suspendedYesterday Canoeing South Africa (CSA) announced the following: "It is with regret that the Board of CSA has to announce that one of its junior members has been suspended from canoeing for a period of six months of which three months are suspended for a period of two years for acting contrary to the interests of Canoeing SA." Following an investigation it was found that the junior member in question had used a false date of birth to enter an event in an age group below his correct age group, thereby gaining an unfair advantage. This statement has already got people talking on the SAKayak forum but CSA quite rightly did not publish the offenders name as the paddler is a minor.
