XTERRA WELCOMES RYAN SANDES ~ XTERRA Knysna once again welcomes South Africa’s elite ultra marathon athlete, Ryan Sandes to the sport of XTERRA. According to Sandes, he has unfinished business in Knysna. “I competed at my first (and only) DUESOUTH XTERRA in Knysna last year. This event was literally my introduction to the sport of duathlon. To say that I was placed out of my comfort zone is an understatement as I found myself flying over my bike’s handle bars on the first bit of the single track. I had such a great time though I just had to come back this year. Hopefully my biking will be a bit stronger, allowing me to redeem myself at least a little. The scenery and surroundings at Pezula is awesome and XTERRA Knysna has such a great atmosphere. I am really looking forward to being a part of it again,” says Sandes.
EVENT NEWS ~ XTERRA Knysna is the only DUESOUTH XTERRA event that does not feature a water discipline. Athletes can participate individually or in teams of two.
