Sunrise Run Series in May & June
There is just one week left until the first race of the new Sunrise Run Series which kicks off on the new Durban beach front promonade on Sunday 9 May at sunrise (6:30am).
The first race in the series offers a 5km and 10 km race course along the new beach front promenade starting at North Beach heading north along the promonade past the Suncoast casino before ducking under the highway for a 1.5km loop around the New Moses Mabhida Stadium and "People's Park". After the Moses Mabhida loop the course continues north up the beach promonade before cutting across to the beach itself for a 4km run back on the beach.
I can hear you thinking "Ahhhh, no way am I running on the sand!" It will be a full low tide at 7am on 9 May which means that the sand will be hard packed and hence pleasant and easy to run on. Low tide beach running has got to be one of the coolest things to do in Durban, and at Sunrise it is totally magical. Also, if you have not yet run on the new beachfront promenade then this is the perfect opportunity to try it out.
The series consists of four sunrise runs.

A unique feature of the Sunrise run series is the runner grading system which allows organisers to acknowledge runners of different abilities in the prizes.

All races are PRE-Entry and entry closes on www.roag.co.za the Thursday before the events.

Race day late entry closes 30 minutes before race start and late entry fee is an additional R30
