Engen Dynamic Challenge Weekend in Wellington- Enter Now!Tuesday, 07 September 2010 09:07 The Engen Dynamic Challenge Weekend in Wellington-Enter Now!Western Cape and Boland cycling enthusiasts will have a chance to show their stuff when the Nelsons Creek Wine Estate in Wellington hosts the first ever Engen Dynamic Challenge weekend on 9 and10 October. Saturday 9 October 2010, Starting time: 08h30, Nelsons Creek Wine Estate, Wellington Sunday 10 October 2010, Starting time: 07h00, Nelson Creek Wine Estate, Wellington This action-packed weekend includes the Engen Dynamic Mountain Bike Challenge on the Saturday followed by the very popular Engen Dynamic Cycle Challenge on the Sunday. Entries have now opened and cycling enthusiasts in these areas and cyclists are urged to enter as soon as possible. There are several challenging routes for Saturday’s Mountain bike action - cyclists can enter the 54 km, 30 km or 15 km fun ride routes. There is also provision for the youngsters, in the form of a Kiddies race over 2,5km. On the Sunday the road race will comprise of routes ranging from 99km, 46km or 30km. Cyclists can register online at www.cyclelab.co.za or get entry forms from leading cycling shops which can be faxed to the race office to book their places. Closing date for online entries is Tuesday, 5 October 2010.
The registration fees for both mountain bike and road races are as follow: long route costs R120, medium route R100, short route R80 and Kiddies R50. Both fun riders and professional cyclists are encouraged to enter with the first 250 entrants to register receiving a limited edition Engen Dynamic Cycle Challenge t-shirt.
Cyclists and spectators attending the Engen Dynamic Challenge weekend can look forward to lots of fun and exciting entertainment, numerous activities and nice prize give-aways. Some of the big prizes on offer are two Schwinn road bikes valued at R35 000 and bumper cycling hampers to the value of R20 000. Race organisers have made 50 camping facilities available to the cyclists and public who intend on experiencing this action packed dynamic weekend. Cyclists who enter both the mountain bike and road race challenges will receive a generous discount.
The Engen Dynamic Challenge weekend in Wellington will provide cyclists with the opportunity to indulge in breathtaking scenic routes along the routes in the Winelands. There will be plenty of water points along the routes and cyclists and their families will be treated to a day of family fun and entertainment, including live music, at the Engen Cycling Village.
Through the Engen Dynamic Cycle Challenge, Engen continues to support the young victims of the Red Cross Children’s War Memorial Hospital Burns Unit as 50% of all the entry fees will contribute to the ongoing ‘Ride for Red’ campaign, a fundraising initiative that already assisted in donating R 70 000 towards the unit. It is Engen’s aim that by the end of this year it has contributed to R1 million in donations to the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital across all its sport sponsorships, with more than R 700,000 already been donated to this worthy cause.mce_marker
