Weekend training camp for Knysna Big 5
Craig Coaching in conjunction with Go Multi magazine is presenting a weekend training camp (5 & 6 June) for attendees to the Knysna Oyster Festival in July.
The emphasis is preparing for the new Big 5 concept at the Knysna Oyster Festival, although anyone is welcome to attend. Participants will enjoy two challenging training sessions plus three educational talks per day. Up your game with a total of 10 enlightening fun sessions!

Your Presenters
Ian Craig has 20+ years of experience as a competitive middle distance runner. He studied Exercise Physiology to MSc level in the USA, before qualifying as a strength and conditioning specialist and spending several years as a personal trainer and coach. Now a nutritional therapist, Ian practices and lectures in Functional Sports Nutrition at his home in Cape Town and during regular trips to the UK.
Michael van Staden is a qualified level 2 power coach accredited by Training Peaks. Michael also has a certificate in the AB and C of Sport Science and Psychology. He rides for a professional Cape Town based cycling team and finished in 13th place in the 2008 Cape Argus Cycle Tour - at the age of 19. Michael is the current South African U23 Road and Time Trial champion as well as the 2009 Tour de Mauritius white jersey winner.
Christoff Smit is a Physiotherapist to many multisport athletes. He obtained a BSc. in Physiotherapy and MSc. in Orthopaedic Manual Therapy and his special interests are sports and orthopedic injuries plus their prevention through appropriate conditioning techniques. Christoff’s sporting background is a long history of league cycling, many marathons, triathlon racing (inc two Ironmans). He and his partner were 61st overall in this year’s Cape Epic.
Rob MacLean has a B.A. in Physical Education from Rhodes University and a BSc Sports Science from UCT. He has been a competitive paddler since 1985. He was the World Canoe Marathon Masters gold medallist in 1998 and 2009. Rob has completed all the major river races in South Africa and has also run marathons, several Cycle Tours and surfs as often as possible.
