Pope's Canoe Explorer

The Explorer is a super-stable big volume boat for novice to intermediate paddlers. It is a local re-interpretation of the International Canoe Federation’s Vital, used to teach beginners. A semi-flat bottom means it’s good at turning without spilling out its occupants. The Explorer, like the Yetti, also made by Pope’s, is an ideal multisport boat.

The difference is that the Yetti is a symmetrical boat, with the widest part at the cockpit. The Explorer’s large volume delta cockpit (meaning it is widest behind the paddler) as well as ample foot space allows someone with huge feet in running or cycling shoes to comfortably steer this boat. The high cockpit means it can be used without spray covers in most multisport races, even in choppy water. A foot pump to remove splash-in water is fitted as standard equipment.
