Prorack Whispbar

The biggest annoyance with roof racks is the irritating wind noise produced once up to a decent lick of speed. However, Prorack say they have produced the world's first silent removable rack in the Whispbar, thanks to hours of research and testing in the wind tunnel at Canterbury University in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Now no roof rack will ever be completely silent, but we can see why this particular design should be much quieter.
Thanks to its aerofoil-shaped aluminium bars that generate less drag (Prorack claim up to 70% less than competitors), noise levels and the effect on fuel consumption are reduced. The Whispbar comes standard with a universal t-slot loading system and unique Smartfoot technology ensures it fits a greater number of vehicles. The interchangeable Smartfoot mounts must be bought separately though. The fitting kit and locks are included in the standard price.
Three styles of bars are offered: a flush bar, an extended through bar for heavier loads and a rail bar for vehicles with roof rails. The bars can be combined with an assortment of detachable feet, depending on the application. While not a novel concept, this does enhance the value of your investment should you want to transfer your bars to another vehicle.
