Hi-Tec brings winter apparel range to South Africa
Outdoor brand Hi-Tec has been an established hiking shoe brand in South Africa for decades. Yet the company’s product offering extends far beyond just hiking boots with their sandals, shoes for golf, tennis and watersports, trail running shoes, clothing and accessories. This winter, Hi-Tec brings casual and technical apparel to South Africa.
Internationally, Hi-Tec has manufactured their own technical and casual clothing for a number of years, experiencing success in the European and United States markets. Hi-Tec South Africa have kept their eye on the apparel range for years, but only recently have they been happy that the range is right for the South African consumer.
“We are lucky to be able to cherry pick from the two international subsidiaries with the widest ranges; namely USA and Poland. They have considerable experience in clothing and climates with products that suit our conditions,” says Ian Little, marketing manager of Hi-Tec South Africa.
The range offered in South Africa includes men’s and women’s casual and technical apparel. Little says that the casual-wear winter range includes t-shirts, pants, shirts and lightweight jackets.
“The biggest change is in the amount of technical apparel we are now able to source and provide at excellent quality and price,” he adds. This technical range includes soft shells, rain jackets, fleeces, travelling pants and versatile 3-in-1 jackets with removable fleece or soft-shell inner.
As headline sponsor to PUFfer, the annual 80-kilometre trail run from Cape Point to the V&A Waterfront, Hi-Tec is giving each runner their new Dakota fleece jacket. Available in men’s and women’s cuts, this super lightweight microfleece pullover with quarter zip is a perfect base layer for active wear. This year, Hi-Tec PUFfer is run on Sunday, 21 August.
A selected range of Hi-Tec apparel products are available from DueSouth and Trappers Trading stores as well as independent retailers. A wider range is available through Hi-Tec stores in Montague Gardens (Cape Town), Kya Sands (Jo’burg) and the recently opened Access Park store in Cape Town’s Kenilworth suburb.
