Licensing for 2012 CyclingSA membership opens 22 August 2011

For only R75 a year, you are immediately registered with CyclingSA for any cycle events and do not require a day licence for any event during 2012. Opening the membership in August serves to benefit and assist those cyclists wishing to book early to participate in some of South Africa’s 2012 cycling events taking place early in the year.

A CyclingSA membership provides support and benefits to all levels of cyclists as part of CyclingSA's “2020 Vision” strategy, to cater for both the elite cyclist as well as the everyday two-wheel lover. These fees contribute to the organisation being a dynamic, successful and highly respected governing body of cycling, at both National and International level. "By joining CyclingSA, cyclists are actively helping the body invest in local cycling talent and facilities as well as govern the development of cycle sport in South Africa, from grass roots to elite level," says their press release.

Fees
CyclingSA Membership R75.00
CyclingSA Racing License R350.00

Membership: All riders taking part in CyclingSA sanctioned events are required to be a Member of CyclingSA for the year in which the race takes place, or to have a valid day license for every day of participation. Annual Membership (R75 per annum) or a day license (R35 per day) is a race entry requirement and is thus a prerequisite to enter a race.

Racing License: A racing license allows a rider to represent South Africa and participate in UCI sanctioned events. SA Championship events and SA Colours require a racing license. CyclingSA points will only be given to riders with a full racing license.

Racing Licenses are for all riders 17 years and older. Youth Riders and younger can race and get all the racing license benefits as a CyclingSA Member in South Africa however, any U16 rider wanting to race abroad will be required to upgrade to a full CyclingSA Racing License Membership as from 2012.

Affiliate Fees: Some provinces have elected to allow CyclingSA to collect provincial affiliate fees on their behalf. If you are resident in Central Gauteng, Northern Gauteng or KwaZulu-Natal, the affiliate fee will automatically be added to your membership fee when you purchase membership. (Central Gauteng R75, Northern Gauteng R25, KwaZulu-Natal R35). PPA offer various packages and members should indicate if they are PPA members.
