BMC SA invests in young talent
BMC South Africa, imported and distributed by WSquared Cycling, has a strategy to identify and develop promising mountain bikers in South Africa. The company provides them with a springboard from where they can achieve their goals and dreams to become professional cyclists and champions in their chosen disciplines.
In line with this, they have announced their 2012 mountain bike team.
The girls:
-
Ashleigh Parker-Moffat: Ashleigh dominated the junior ladies mountain biking scene in 2011. We expect great things from her going into the U23 age group in 2011.
-
Simone Vosloo: Simone is the oldest of the talented Vosloo sisters and will be joining Ashleigh in the U23 age in 2012.
-
Savannah Vosloo: Savannah has her eyes set on becoming the SA Junior champion in 2012. Watch this space, she has what it takes.
-
Safron Vosloo: Safron is the youngest of the Vosloo sisters. Watch her in 2012, we won’t be surprised at all to see her on top of the podium. Safron will be racing in the sub-junior category.
The guys:
-
Jaco Pelser: Jaco moves up to the Junior age group for 2012. His growth in 2011 has been fantastic and if this trend continues, Jaco will be a force to recon with next year.
-
Carlo Marzoppi: Carlo is a very talented young man who has had some fantastic results in 2011 in the Youth Category. Carlo will be racing in the Youth Category in 2012 as well and we expect to see him on the podium at many races.
-
Alan Hatherly: We are very excited to have Alan joining the BMC team for 2012. We have seen Alan’s remarkable growth in all the disciplines of mountain biking and know he has an amazing future in this sport. It is a privilege for us to be part of his future development.
