Michael Casey was the first rider across the line in the 45km ProNutro Magalies Monster Mountain Bike Classic, while, Caspar Pierre Eksteen finished first in the open men’s category of the 20km ProNutro Magalies Monster Mountain Bike Classic. Sandra Leigh Prinsloo managed an impressive first place position in the open women’s category of the 45km ProNutro Magalies Monster Mountain Bike Classic, while Lindy Steenkamp finished first in the open women’s category of the 20km ProNutro Magalies Monster Mountain Bike Classic. The key draw-card of the ProNutro Magalies Monster Mountain Bike Classic was the opportunity afforded riders to traverse the northern slope of the Magaliesberg range along an awesome 9km climb that is affectionately known as the Monster, which captulates the real beauty of the Magaliesberg Mountains with amazing rock formations and pristine vegetation as well as magnificent views of the Buffelspoort Valley. Event-organisers wanted to give all mountain bike enthusiasts the unique opportunity of riding some of the best mountain bike trails in the country, hence the choice between a 20km, 45km and 70km route. These awesome routes included mountains, tough climbs, technical-single-track, undulating jeep-track, adrenaline-pumping down hills and pure countryside – everything a quality mountain bike route should have and all this in the heart of the Magaliesberg Mountain Range.
