One Day, Seven Challenges

Entries are open for the gruelling and scenic Totalsports Challenge, presented by New Balance and REHIDRAT® SPORT.  Taking place on Saturday, 14 January 2012 this much-loved event celebrates its 10th anniversary on the day.

According to Michael Meyer, Director of Stillwater Sport & Entertainment, the event has received tremendous support over the past ten years.  “It is with great excitement that we prepare to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Totalsports Challenge in January 2012.  Since its inception the Totalsports Challenge has been a highlight on the South African sports calendar attracting top competitors from various sporting disciplines.  We look forward to hosting a memorable event.  We are extremely proud to welcome REHIDRAT® SPORT as a new co presenting sponsor of the Totalsports Challenge.  Participants can now look forward to a well deserved rest in the REHIDRAT® SPORT recovery zone,” says Meyer.

Choose between the action-packed 7-discipline Totalsports Challenge or the less daunting 4-discipline Totalsports Terra Firma Challenge.   Athletes up for a challenge can enter individually, while those who prefer team sports can put together a team of two, three or seven for the Totalsports Challenge or a team of two or four for the Totalsports Terra Firma Challenge.  Either way it is sure to be a day to remember with past champions coming out to share in the fun.

07h45 – Totalsports Terra Firma Challenge

DISTANCES:                    Totalsports Challenge  - 12km surfski, 1.5km swim, 50km road bike (from Gordon’s Bay to Kleinmond), 13km road run, 13km K1 canoe, 25km mountain bike and finally a 9km beach run                       
Totalsports Terra Firma Challenge - 50km road bike (from Gordon’s Bay to Kleinmond), 13km road run, 25km mountain bike and 9km beach run.

FORMAT:                         Totalsports Challenge  - compete individually or in teams of two, three or seven (male, female or mixed)
Totalsports Terra Firma Challenge - compete individually or in teams of two or four (male, female or mixed).
