Jolly Jester a hit with the families
The annual Jolly Jester edition of the SPUR Rumble Series which is also the final event, sponsored by HI-TEC and presented by Quantum Adventures, took place at a brand new venue, Valley Farms in Grabouw on Sunday, 5 December 2010.
Despite the fact that this series now rates as one of the top AR multisport events here in the Cape, the proceedings were utterly overshadowed by the showing of Cape Town's own Borat who, together with his partner, a purple caped avenger, enthusiastically embraced the “fancy dress” element of this race.
Family involvement is a big part of this event, and 38 of the 97 teams entered were family teams. The 24km MTB race is a recent addition to the event and is increasing in popularity.
The fun begins again on 16 January 2011 at Oak Lane Cottages with the Spur Adventure Sprint Series kicks off.
