The King and Queen of the Knysna Big 5 are crownedWednesday, 01 September 2010 19:01 The King and Queen of the Knysna Big 5 are crownedThe Knysna Big 5 is a one of a kind challenge, and in its inaugural year this year attracted 52 entries from adventure sportsmen and women across the country, who would take part in five events of there choice, of those that were on offer at the Knysna Oyster Festival. Well done to everyone who participated in the various sports events, in particular those who were brave enough to take on the first ever Big 5, which challenged sports people of all ages to compete in any five of the following festival events - the Pick n Pay Weekend Argus Rotary Knysna MTB Race and Road Race, the Salomon Featherbed Trail Run presented by Petzl, Duesouth XTERRA presented by REHIDRAT®, the Pick n Pay Cape Times Knysna Forest Full or Half Marathon and the Knysna Lagoon Challenge sponsored by Ristorante Enrico & Manja Kwa. Of the 52 entries, just 14 men and five women completed the five events they had entered. It certainly looks to becoming a prestigious challenge for top multisport athletes across the country Congratulations to Hanlie Booyens and David Morison for winning the Big 5 in their respective categories.
