Comrades road closure times
This year the Comrades Marathon will be run over a distance of 89.28km from Pietermaritzburg to Durban. With an anticipated 20,000 runners clogging the road to Durban, traffic flow and access to certain roads on the Comrades route will be significantly limited on Sunday 30 May.
The Comrades Marathon Association advises members of the public who wish to cheer their relatives or friends from the various spectator spots on the route, to travel there early before the routes close.
The road closure times for 30 May are as follows:
