SA Swimming have good results on Day one of Commonwealth 2010Monday, 04 October 2010 18:30 SA Swimming starts with a bang at the 2010 CWGDay one of the Commonwealth Games 2010 is kicked off in fine fashion by the SA Swimming contingent. One gold and a bronze out of three events for Team SA. Chad "the wonder boy" le Clos boosts the spirit in the SA tower of the Commonwealth athlete village by winning a gold in the 200m butterfly event on day one of the Commonwealth Games 2010 Delhi, India. Together with his gold medal, he set a new Commonwealth record to put the cherry on-top. The mens 4 x100m freestyle relay was set to be a battle between the Saffa's, England and the Ozzies. The SA team of four consisted of Graeme Moore, Darian Townsend, Roland Schoeman and Gideon Louw. The three teams battled it out as they sped away from the rest but Australia won in the end. England took second and South Africa settled for a well earned third spot on the podium. Day two may bring more glory as Roland has his sights on the 50m butterfly and Natalie du Toit prepares for a speedy 50m freestyle. Keep those fingers crossed and all your best wishes behind team SA, they need your support.
