Andre Gie wins Otter

Record-holder from 2009 Iain Don-Wauchope has been beaten by Garden Route local Andre Gie. While John Collins broke the 2009 record in the first Otter run on Saturday, his 4:56 time was broken by an outstanding performance by the local AR boy Dr. Andre Gie. Digging deep on Wauchope’s walk saw Gie hit the dreaded floating bridge in first place allowing him to cross the finish line in 04:48:32 a mere 12 seconds ahead of the favourite Iain-Don Wauchope.
