Gale force winds cause chaos ahead of Pronutro AfricanX Trail Run

Disaster has struck in Kleinmond where event organisers are currently setting up for the second annual ProNutro AfricanX Trailrun presented by New Balance due to take place from Friday, 07 May, to Sunday, 09 May 2010.  Due to gale force winds experienced at present in the area, organisers have been forced to stop setting up the Festival Village including the tented area set aside for participating athletes.  According to event organiser Michael Meyer, the weather has resulted in a logistical nightmare.  “Unfortunately athletes who were planning on using the tented accommodation facilities for the three-day period will need to make alternative arrangements for tonight as the current weather conditions have made it impossible to set up camp.  As a result, tonight’s scheduled registration will move to Friday morning between 07h00 and 11h00 at Kleinmond’s Caravan Park.  This has necessitated a delay to the start of Stage One, which has subsequently been moved to 12h00.  We are terribly sorry for the inconvenience,” says Meyer.
