Sandes wins Antarctica's Last Desert race

Another first for Sandes

South African Ryan Sandes has become the first person ever to win all 4 Desert Races after he won the Last Desert Race in Antarctica.

The Capetonian led from start to finish in the freezing conditions. The race took place on the King George and Deception islands with the ship Antarctic Dream ferrying the 55 competitors and providing accommodation. Sandes not only won each race in the Racing the Planet 4 Deserts over the last couple of years, but he also won every single stage of every race.

His previous 4 Desert wins include the Atacama Crossing (Chile), Gobi March (China) and the Sahara Race (Egypt).

The full results for the Last Desert will be posted as soon as we get them.
