IT Professional Services company, BSG and sports drink, Energade, in their fourth year together as a team, have ensured there are even more exciting innovations in store this year for participants, in this popular seven event triathlon series, across South Africa. From streamlined entries through the BSG Multisport website, a revamped race day schedule with a separate Elite race, to multiple start waves for the age groups, ensuring safety in the swim. For the Kiddies series, there will be a dedicated kid’s area at each venue hosted by Jungle Bar, so that moms and dads can race and compete themselves, with complete confidence that that their children are having fun and being looked after. There is also an increased distance in the older Kids age group (12-15 years), making this category a little more competitive. Everyone can be sure of an awesome day out, being healthy and having loads of fun, with this year’s BSG Energade Tri-Series set to be the best yet.

What’s more there is a chance for your school, where you study, or go to work, to grab some fame, by having you enter them in the prestigious BSG Energade Triseries Challenge and feature on the Triseries Challenge Leader boards!
There are prizes to be won in three categories, the Top Corporate, Top School and Top Tertiary institution. In order to qualify and ensure that points earned by you go towards your institutions Triseries Challenge total, each individual and team entry must indicate which schools/tertiary institutions or corporates, they belong to.

As was done last year, BSG is once again challenging all participants to help raise funds for the LEAP Science and Maths schools, thereby supporting our education system in South Africa. Look out for more info about the innovative ‘MyPledge’ concept, on the BSG Multisport web site, where participants can request friends, family and colleagues to sponsor them and pledge funds on their behalf. So come on everyone, let’s help to help to make a difference in the lives of the many underprivileged children who dream of completing a matric, which creates potential for tertiary education study.

Whilst leading athletes such as Andrea Steyn and Erhard Wolfaardt, the reigning champs will have their minds set on fighting it out for their share of the big prize money of R200,000, the Series also offers amateur athletes, semi-proficient in the disciplines of swimming, cycling and running an opportunity to complete a triathlon event with ease.
For first time participants wary of taking on the challenge as a whole, participating as a team with each member doing a different leg of the event, is a great alternative to ensure you don’t miss out on the fun filled action. Check out the BSG Multisport web site for handy advice from the BSG Elite Team on nutrition, equipment and the latest training schedule, to get you started.

Unlock your potential and take up the challenge and race side by side with BSG’s Brand Ambassador, Hein Wagner. Hein, who has been blind since birth, completed his first triathlon at the 2008 BSG Energade Tri-series in Cape Town. Since then, Hein has caught the triathlon bug and so will you. As Hein says, “I’m blind, so what is your excuse?”

Every entry into the BSG Energade Triathlon Series, including the kiddies receives an awesome series goody bag packed with loads of cool stuff, providing great value for all. Don’t delay in securing your place, as entries are only available on-line in 2011 and for safety purposes, entries are capped at each venue. We look forward to seeing you at the BSG Energade Triathlon Series!
