This year's BSG Energade Tri-series set to be the best yet
The time to dust off your training gear has arrived. The dates and venues for the 2011 BSG Energade Tri-series and Kids Series have been released so now you can be sure of the race day you are working towards. The following dates and venues have been sanctioned by TSA. These are subject to safety checks which will be conducted in due course. Should any changes arise from these checks, they will be communicated to the triathlon community via Facebook, the Multisport Website and the BSG Energade Tri-series website.
2 October Roodeplaat Dam
9 October Germiston
16 October Buffelspoort
30 October KZN
13 November PE
20 November Cape Town
4 December Vaal
BSG and Energade, as a team, have brought this popular triathlon series to South Africa for the past three years. Continually doing things better and smarter is what BSG and Energade are all about and this year is no exception with even more exciting innovations in store. From corporate leader boards to live streaming of results, this year’s Series is set to be the best yet.
Online entries will open soon so keep an eye out for updates on Facebook and related websites. Unlock your potential now by starting your training programme and you could take on Andrea Steyn and Erhaard Woolfaard, the reigning champs. You will also be racing side by side with the BSG Elite Team and BSG’s Brand Ambassador, Hein Wagner. Hein, who has been blind since birth, is a truly inspirational individual. His first attempt at triathlon was at the 2008 BSG Energade Tri-series in Cape Town and since then, Hein has caught the triathlon bug and so will you. As Hein says, “I’m blind, so what is your excuse?”
Whilst the leading athletes will have their minds set on fighting it out for the big prize money, the Series also offers amateur athletes, proficient in any of the three disciplines – swimming, cycling and running – an opportunity to participate and have fun. For first time participants wary of taking on the challenge as a whole, participating as a team with each member doing a different leg of the race is a great alternative to ensure you don’t miss out on the action. Check out http://www.bsgmultisport.co.za/content/training-schedule for a great training schedule to get you started. We look forward to seeing you at the races!
