SA’s paddling giants gear up for World Marathon Championship

There couldn’t have been a better ending to the South African Marathon Team selection campaign. The ICF World Marathon Championship is just under a month away, and will see only the best of South Africa’s paddling crop make it through K1 and K2 selection.  With only two spots on the national team in each age division, South Africa’s paddling giants were not about to make any mistakes.

Birkett clinches maiden Drak Challenge title



Andy Birkett snatched a sensational maiden title at the N3TC Drakensberg Challenge Canoe Marathon on 19 January. A mistake by triple champ Hank McGregor in the closing stages of the race gave Birkett the edge to cross the finish line first.
